The nursery is open on Sundays from 8:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. September through May and for other church events as published.
The Calvary Episcopal Nursery is dedicated to supporting the spiritual growth of parents by providing free, nurturing childcare during church services and events. Our mission is to create a safe, loving, and enriching environment for children, allowing parents the peace of mind to fully engage in their spiritual journey and community involvement. Through our care, we aim to foster a sense of belonging and spiritual development for the entire family within the Calvary Episcopal community.

Who can stay in the nursery?
The nursery is open to children ages two weeks to 3 years old during Faith Formation Hour (10:00 a.m. - 10:50 a.m.).
During the 9 and 11 o’clock services, 4-year-olds are welcome to stay. The nursery is not equipped for children ages five and up.
Where is the nursery located?
The nursery is located on Level A (the classroom level).
When is the nursery open?
The nursery is open from 8:45 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. while parents/guardians attend services, formation classes, sing in the choir, or attend special events as advertised. Parents/guardians are welcome to come and go as needed within that time. Many parents pick up midway through the service so their children can be present for Communion.
Is there a fee for using the Calvary Nursery?
No, our nursery is free of charge unless otherwise noted.
Do I need to sign up?
Yes. To save time, please fill out the registration form before your first visit and at the start of each programming year in September. However, if necessary, you can register onsite the first time you bring your child to the nursery. At that time, you will be asked to complete a registration form with some basic information about your child. This information is securely kept on file and is only shared with the nursery staff.
If my child has been in the nursery before, do I need to register again each year?
Yes. In order to keep our records up to date with any change in allergies, contact information, etc. we ask that you register your child(ren) at the beginning of the programming year in September. Also, please notify us anytime there are changes we should be aware of.
Can we visit before I leave my child in the nursery for the first time?
Yes! Parents/guardians and their children are always welcome to visit, see the room, and meet the caregivers.
How is the nursery staffed?
There are three primary caregivers who have worked in the nursery for over a year. Everyone who works in the nursery has clearances to work with children (PA criminal record check, child abuse history clearance, and FBI background check). They are paid for their time and participate in in-service training at the start of the year.
Am I required to bring my child to the nursery during services?
No. We love having little ones in church! However, the nursery is there to meet your needs if you so choose. There is never an obligation to bring your child to the nursery.
What if something happens while my child is in the nursery?
Staff members will use the cell phone number you provided to contact you via text or phone call. In addition, we use the parent/caregiver communication app called Procare which you may download and use for free. After registering your child, you will receive an email with instructions on how to create an account.

No. At least one parent or guardian must remain on the Calvary premises unless there is an emergency and nursery workers have been notified.
