Christmastide

The celebration has just begun!
The Christmas season lasts twelve days, from the vigil of Christmas Eve until Jan. 5, the day before the Epiphany, also known as Twelfth Night. Instead of packing away the Christmas decorations, take some time to savor the wonder of the Incarnation and celebrate!

Here are some ideas for celebrating all of Christmastide with your family:

• Leave your decorations up until the Epiphany (January 6).
• Move the Magi (3 Kings / Wise Men) from your nativity scenes around the house each day until they reach Jesus.
• Light Advent Candles: If you have an Advent wreath, continue lighting the candles through Christmastide, including the central Christ candle.
• Give Back: Encourage children to donate some of their toys or clothes to those in need, reinforcing the spirit of giving.
• Watch Christmas Movies: Enjoy classic Christmas movies and shows as a family during this extended holiday period.
• Nature Walks: Take family walks to enjoy the winter scenery and appreciate the beauty of nature during this time of year.
• Family Traditions: Create your own Christmastide traditions that are meaningful to your family, such as writing letters to loved ones, reflecting on the past year, or setting goals for the year ahead.
